[ .....well this isn't more intimidating at all. Please don't mind the breath as he composes himself. There are so many ways he could phrase this, so many questions running through his head... but he's going to finally pick the most important one. ]

[ To pay off his 'debt'. Yata wasn't the type to accept a hand out, so Mikoto didn't bother offering one. By giving him an assignment - work - he didn't have to feel in his debt and Mikoto made sure he had a roof over his head and a full stomach all without ever lifting a finger. ]
[ Mikoto doesn't want to be responsible for the mess that comes with revealing too much. If he knew they could handle it, he'd tell them the truth straight out but they can't so he doesn't. It's not their fault the gods decided to toy with them. Mikoto wouldn't add to it. ]

[ He's not going to tell him either way. If he wanted to pursue it, he wouldn't stop him. ]
[ He wishes he could ask... but he knows it's for the best if he didn't. So he won't press it. Eno's always been a good shinki, after all. Never poking his nose into things he doesn't. But there's something nagging at him, one thing he needs to know apart from anything else. ]
[ Mikoto puts down the note where the goddess left it and proceeds to follow the directions, adding vegetables to his plate, and makes sure not to heat it up too much. When he's finished eating, he washes the plate, dries it, and puts it back in in the cupboard. He leaves the note where he found it as he heads out for his morning walk. If she takes a look at the note it'll have a quick note scrawled on.]
